A big year for Baltimore
Facet Wealth’s announcement last week of a $100m Series C is part of a surge of activity in Baltimore’s startup ecosystem, and one of seven $100mm+ funding rounds for Baltimore companies in the past 12 months (after only two total from 2016-2020).
Baltimore smashed all kinds of startup records in 2021, with venture funding reaching $825 million,* up 161% YOY (!), outpacing US growth of 96%. We have many challenges as a city, but our tech/startup scene is a bright spot. 🌞
